Fatal Motorcycle Crash & Driver Leaves Scene of Accident
A three-car accident in Perry Township resulted in the death of a 21 year old following a
motorcycle accident shortly after 2 p.m. Sunday on Perry Drive NW and Barrie Street NW. The
Motorcycle operator was traveling north on Perry Drive when he attempted to avoid another vehicle
turning left onto Barrie Street, but hit another vehicle after being separated from his motorcycle. The
vehicle operator that was turning left fled the scene and police have since identified the suspect and
criminal charges are pending.
We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of the victim at this time.
Motorcycle Accidents in Ohio
Even the most experienced motorcycle riders can be defenseless against the negligence of drivers.
While motorcycles continue to increase in popularity, they continue to be associated with a higher level
of risk to the operator. According to the Dept. of Transportation, a motorcyclist is at least 8 times more
likely to be injured in a traffic accident. The truth is, motorcyclists cannot control the actions of other
motorists on the road despite all of the precautions they take for their safety. In Ohio, there have been
over 370 motorcycle accidents in 2020, and spanning back to 2014, close to 1000 motorcycle
fatalities. If your loved one has been killed or injured in a motorcycle accident it is essential that you
contact an attorney as soon as possible to protect your rights.
