Alliance- Ohio

On Wednesday, April 22, 2020, the State of Ohio announced that Stark County’s Altercare Alliance nursing home lists 47 positive COVID-19 tests among residents and 26 positive tests among staff. Fifteen residents have died as a result of the COVID-19.

Deaths have been reported at nursing homes in Summit County, Medina County, Portage County and Wayne County due to COVID-19.

Due to the spread of COVID-19 nursing homes, the Ohio Department of Health now mandates that facilities notify families within 24 hours of a positive case at a nursing home.

Our prayers are with the ill, the deceased, and their families during this most difficult time.

Nursing Home Liability

The COVID-19 pandemic is certainly an unprecedented event. However, information is coming through to us that nursing homes are running low on antibacterial hand soap and protective face masks. Similarly we have heard that facilities are operating with only half of the staff-members needed to provide the appropriate level of resident care. Failure to prepare for an outbreak, such as COVID-19, is grounds for a COVID-19 lawsuit against the provider. If your loved one has passed away due to COVID-10 while at a nursing home, you should always speak with a COVID- 19 attorney in your time of need.
