On April 24, 2020, it was reported that Saybrook Landing nursing home has shown a large increase in COVID-19 cases. The Ohio Department of Health stated that Saybrook Landing has reported 20 cases among residents and six more among staff. The state recommended that all residents who have tested positive for COVID-19 be moved into a single wing; that wing should then be isolated. Employees of the nursing home were encouraged to stay in either the COVID-19 wing or other wings for their entire shifts to reduce cross-contamination.
As Ashtabula’s COVID-19 numbers continue to rise, we would like to send our thoughts and prayers to everyone affected by the virus.
